A nightmare for workers, the price of air shipments to Europe and the United States has risen sharply!

Good afternoon, fellow workers . I checked my friends' circles last night and found that many of them had not mentioned planets, galaxies, the universe, dreams, and literature for a long time. What's going on? Did they go to work like me?

Although I didn’t find any order records of the big sellers, I still found some important information in the circle of friends. Without further ado, here are the screenshots.

Although the contents in the above picture come from the friend circles of different freight forwarders, they all reveal an important message, that is, the increase in logistics prices.

“It’s hard to book space, and prices are rising.”

"UPS air delivery prices in Europe and the United States continue to rise. Please inquire about price changes before shipping."

“Air freight prices fluctuate too much and are still trending upwards.”

From the dynamics of multiple logistics companies announcing the increase in logistics prices, it can be seen that the news of the price increase of air delivery in Europe and the United States is not groundless. According to feedback from multiple freight forwarders, the logistics prices in Europe and the United States will fluctuate greatly in the near future, and the air delivery fees will continue to rise.

The editor asked some freight forwarders about this and they also said that this was true. They told the editor that the logistics costs to the United States and Europe have been on the rise recently, and attached a screenshot of their company's notification.

According to information provided by multiple logistics companies, it can be seen that air delivery fees in Europe and the United States are about to rise across the board. Amazon has also issued a notice on postal price increases: from October 18, 2020 to December 27, 2020, the U.S. Postal Service will implement a temporary commercial price increase.

According to Duoduo Booking Network: UPS delivery fees in the US have skyrocketed by 2-3 times, and the system has uniformly adjusted the 90% off to 88% off, and the single ticket cannot exceed 600 pounds. FedEx ground and MTW services in the US will also increase prices after November 3. That is, the delivery fee alone will be 6/1kg to 10/1kg, plus the ocean freight and tariffs, the comprehensive price will be 13/1kg-16/1kg.

The above information once again confirms the authenticity of the increase in logistics costs. Amazon Prime Day just ended last week, and some sellers were still immersed in the joy of booming orders, but in the blink of an eye, they were hit by logistics.

Seller: The speed of placing orders cannot keep up with the speed of rising logistics costs. Hold on, workers!

This year, due to the epidemic and other reasons, news about rising logistics costs has become common, but there must be a reason for everything. So why is there such a large-scale increase in logistics costs this time?

1. Apple's new phone is released, and a large number of charter flights are shipped

The editor learned from the logistics company that Apple recently released a new product (yes, it is the iPhone 12 in the hands of the sellers), and a large number of chartered flights were used to ship the products, occupying most flights. In addition, the UPS account is limited and the space is reduced, resulting in a sharp increase in air delivery prices.

2. A surge in shipments during the peak shopping season

According to foreign media, due to the American business war from Black Friday in late November to Christmas in December, the transportation of home appliances, furniture, toys, etc. from China and other Asian regions to the United States becomes active from July to October every year.

With the arrival of Q4 and various big promotions, consumer shopping demand has increased, but the current logistics capacity is not enough to cope with the surge in shipment demand. In the case of supply and demand, logistics prices will also be adjusted upwards.

3. Port congestion in various countries

It is understood that before the National Day, many customers rushed to send their goods to the United States by sea, but the ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach are currently severely congested, with many goods piled up at the port terminals, resulting in a large number of delays around the 7th, and there is a possibility that container ships will continue to be delayed.

Data from Hong Kong information company Freightos showed that freight rates from China to the U.S. West Coast exceeded US$3,900 per 40-foot container in late September, and container freight rates remained near highs in October.

Regarding the increase in logistics costs to Europe and the United States, Duoduo Booking Network has made the following suggestions:

· Try to build and lock warehouses in the West Coast warehouse, and then send them by truck. The price is similar to the original Shanghai delivery, and the delivery time will not be much different.

·   If it must be in the East Coast of the United States, please lock in and try to build a warehouse in a popular warehouse close to New York and Chicago. However, the delivery time is definitely not as fast as before. The collection of goods plus the truck reservation is not that fast. Be prepared for 35-50 days of warehousing. For the time being, it is recommended to go by truck.

·   Reasonable stocking is recommended. For products with low sales volume, multiple batches of shipments are recommended, and all specifications are shipped every week to avoid out-of-stock. For products with high sales volume, it is recommended to lock the warehouse to a warehouse and deliver the whole container directly, and prepare more than one container of goods every week.

Member Day has passed, and sellers are about to usher in the Black Friday online promotion. During the promotion, the inventory quantity is particularly important. Therefore, in view of the above situation, sellers should not only adjust the stocking plan in time, but also pay more attention to logistics dynamics and price adjustment trends to prepare for the upcoming shopping season.

Although the increase in logistics costs is an inevitable trend, as a strong worker, I still want to give a word to the sellers↓↓↓
