Originally from South Africa, Levitt was a professional skateboarder and musician before he got into business. He started a music company in the late 90s , but his interest in emails grew as he saw how they changed his life, which led him to create Mad Mimi .

Later, Levitt found that he didn't want to make music anymore and thought that the email field was a good choice. He began to put together the knowledge he had learned about email marketing, and the outline of Mad Mimi began to slowly emerge.
