1. About Tumblr

On the evening of May 20, 2013, Beijing time, Yahoo and Tumblr announced on Monday that they have reached a definitive agreement on Yahoo's acquisition of Tumblr. According to the agreement, Tumblr will operate independently as a separate business.

3. Content Publishing Type

1. Text: Supports HTML, no limit on word count, etc.; you can upload pictures in the article, but they will be reduced to 500px width.

2. Photos: Upload local photos, directly use the camera to shoot, or use link stickers, but you can only include multiple pictures in one article when uploading, and the limit is 10 pictures; the uploaded pictures are limited to 10M in size each, and the total capacity uploaded per day is also limited.

Tumblr was founded in 2007 by David Karp with Marco Arment as the development team lead.

On October 31, 2007, it received US$750,000 in Series A financing.

In December 2008, it received a second round of investment of US$4.5 million from Union Square Ventures and Spark Capital.

By the end of 2008, the number of users was around 500,000.

In 2009, it acquired a Tumblr iPhone application.

In March 2010, Tumblr launched a BlackBerry app.

On August 12, 2019, U.S. telecommunications operator Verizon (VZ.US) announced on Monday that it would sell its blog and social networking site Tumblr to Automattic, the owner of the blogging platform WordPress. The transaction price dropped from the rumored $20 million at the beginning to $3 million in the end.
