In response to the EU's antitrust investigation, Amazon promised to make reforms in three areas in 2023 to address its widely criticized monopoly issues:
1. Stop using the non-public data of independent sellers for their retail business or to sell branded and private label products.
I have to question whether this rule can be enforced. There are too many VC accounts that follow sellers’ product links and even modify the links of brands to seize the link editing rights. Unless Amazon takes back the rights of VC accounts, there is still no way to solve the actual problem.
2. If the second quotation is different from the first quotation in terms of price or delivery, multiple shopping carts will be created to increase the chances of product sales.
Amazon's second shopping cart has not been launched yet. I guess sellers have to study the basis for sorting the two shopping carts. To be honest, if FBM can also grab the shopping cart, will self-shipping and follow-selling grab the shopping cart? If so, I want to ask if this link can be withdrawn and not launched. Otherwise, there will be another spoof link of self-shipping and follow-selling grabbing the shopping cart without shipping, and the link will be charged in minutes. Please be a human being!
3. Provide an alternative offer for buyers who are not in a hurry to get the goods, and sellers using Amazon Prime membership will not be locked into Amazon's logistics services and can freely decide the delivery company they want.
It is not necessary to use FBA warehousing and logistics, and no additional traffic support will be given to sellers who use FBA services. Amazon is cutting off its own arms by doing this, because the core of Amazon is Amazon logistics and distribution. If Amazon logistics and distribution are to have the same weight as other logistics, it must compete with other logistics channels in terms of service and price. This is the platform's way of treating UPS and FedEx as its godsons and giving them benefits.
Many sellers are very happy to see Amazon announce these terms that may be implemented in 2023, but Amazon really can't do it, and these are just statements. It can be said that it is just to deal with the EU's antitrust provisions. Whatever you originally planned to do in 2023, you will continue to do it. There are no benefits. Thank God Amazon does not increase the difficulty. |
