More than 13,500 Chinese products were seized by US Customs! The total value exceeds 30 million US dollars!

It is learned that according to foreign media reports, recently U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officials seized a batch of more than 13,500 counterfeit products from China at the Los Angeles Long Beach Port, including handbags, tote bags, backpacks, messenger bags, backpacks, shirts and pants, with trademarks such as Gucci, Chanel, Fendi, YSL and Louis Vuitton, with a total value of more than US$30,437,775.

According to reports, these counterfeit clothing, shoes and handbags are of poor quality, with loose or uneven stitching, fragile fabrics, and improper label sizes and designs. Peeling labels, inferior materials and printing errors make CBP officers recognize the clues at a glance.

Donald R. Kusser, port director of the Los Angeles Long Beach Seaport, said that with severe supply chain problems and commodity shortages, domestic and foreign smugglers and traffickers have begun to emerge. Many unscrupulous merchants sell counterfeit and unsafe goods through online platforms to defraud consumers, which poses a great danger to the personal safety of consumers.

CBP officials said that the trade in counterfeit and pirated goods also seriously threatens the growth of the U.S. economy and has a certain impact on U.S. businesses. During the peak shopping season, CBP will remain vigilant and increase supervision of imported goods to prevent counterfeit and pirated goods from entering the U.S. supply chain, markets and streets.

It is learned that in fiscal year 2020, CBP officers seized a total of 26,503 counterfeit goods nationwide with a total retail value of more than $1.3 billion.
