It is learned that according to foreign media reports, Canadian Tire is planning to launch smart package pickup lockers to support online or physical store order storage. Canadian Tire is reportedly working with retail technology suppliers Direct Source, Synq and furniture manufacturer Safco to jointly deploy a smart parcel locker system. The report said that the recipient needs to scan the package with a smartphone to open the package locker and pay a certain fee. At the same time, the package locker also supports consumers to return the goods directly without the need to operate through the application. It is understood that the smart package pickup lockers launched by Canadian Tire will be integrated with the back-end POS information, inventory management and distribution systems to help delivery personnel put items into the lockers more accurately. It is reported that Canadian Tire has been testing the project since 2019, and plans to quickly deploy smart parcel lockers across the country in the future to meet more consumers' demand for a good delivery experience. Currently, Canadian Tire operates more than 1,700 retail stores and gas stations nationwide, providing a variety of products such as automobiles, hardware, sports, leisure, household goods and clothing.
