It is learned that on January 4, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) announced that pet supplies supplier Pet Brands Products voluntarily recalled its pet calendars sold in Aldi stores due to potential choking risks.
The recalled products are Pure Being Cat Advent Calendars and Pure Being Dog Advent Calendars, which are sold in 5.15-ounce packages with UPCs 4099100267754 and 4099100267747 for cats and dogs, respectively.
The FDA said the Aldi supermarket chain has removed the product from its shelves due to a potential choking hazard. Consumers are asked to immediately stop using the recalled product and return it to the store where it was purchased for a full refund.
The FDA notice also states that the recalled calendar was sold primarily at Aldi stores, but a Google search shows that the product may have also been sold on Amazon.
