Maersk and Einride Trucks reach cooperation! Will deploy 300 electric delivery trucks in North America!

It is learned that according to foreign media reports, Maersk recently announced a partnership with automotive company Einride Trucks to deploy 300 electric delivery trucks to strengthen its North American transportation network.

According to official statements, the new electric delivery vehicles will be delivered between 2023 and 2025 and will be used by Maersk's subsidiary Performance Team.

Maersk's newly deployed delivery trucks are the largest heavy-duty electric trucks to date. These trucks will use Einride's digital road freight operating system and charging solutions to be responsible for Maersk's North American warehousing, distribution and transportation work.

It is reported that the assembly of Einride's electric vehicles strictly follows the standards set across the United States, and the first batch of trucks are the 8-level 8TT third generation produced by BYD. This cooperation is the first large-scale use of Einride's digital road freight operating system, which can provide Maersk with fully transparent data, including transportation routes, cargo delivery status, etc.

Robert Falck, CEO of Einride, said that Maersk's move is one of the largest deals ever made to achieve sustainable transportation, which will not only make its transportation business more cost-effective, but also promote the development of the green delivery market. Maersk is leading the development of the logistics industry and is realizing the transformation from the gasoline era to the electric era.

It is learned that Maersk invested in Einride in 2021 to strengthen the company's decarbonization of truck transportation activities. In addition to North America, Maersk plans to deploy all-electric delivery vehicles in more cities in the United States in the future.

Maersk currently operates more than 60 distribution and fulfillment centers in North America, and the recent acquisition of Pilot Freight Services (to be completed in the second quarter of 2022) will bring that number to 87.
