This news came from an internal email from Amazon executives that was intercepted by foreign media. Although the email did not reveal the specific welfare reduction plan, it mentioned that stock rewards were not the only reduction plan. Amazon is also preparing to comprehensively re-evaluate the company's salary structure and adjust the salary structure of employees. In other words, it is an overall salary cut. In the future, Amazon will increase the proportion of cash in salary and reduce the equity portion.

After multiple rounds of layoffs and cost reductions and efficiency improvements, Amazon's stock price has indeed rebounded. After a record 50% plunge in stock prices at the end of last year, Amazon's stock price has been rising since the beginning of this year, up 20% from the lowest point at the end of the year.

Amazon's various price increases have already caused sellers to complain bitterly. Now this wave of layoffs + salary cuts can effectively ease Amazon's financial pressure. Once the pressure is reduced, Amazon can take less advantage of sellers.

On the other hand, there have also been big events in the European market recently.

Because of the ongoing nationwide strike in France, shipping companies led by Maersk are notifying all French ports to suspend operations from April 6th to 7th (except Le Havre Port).

All port operations, including import and export, will be suspended during this period, but comprehensive detention charges, demurrage, storage fees and additional costs incurred due to the suspension, such as re-stowage, will be collected as usual. The aftermath of the last strike in Germany is still ongoing, and there is a high possibility of a second strike on Easter (April 9), so the distribution in the entire European region will be relatively tight recently.
