Big news! 6 sales policies will be changed...

Amazon is at it again!

Just now, Amazon announced that it will make changes to five policies , including sales policy and seller code of conduct , VAT agreement , European VAT services online agreement , Amazon Logistics "Subscribe and Save ", and Amazon Renewed Global Quality Policy . At the same time, it will also add a new policy , the Amazon Logistics Dangerous Goods Program Terms and Conditions .

It is worth noting that both changes and new policies will take effect 15 days later, that is, on June 15, 2020 .

What impact do the above policy changes or additions have on sellers?

Amazon Selling Policies and Seller Code of Conduct

We are clarifying the limited circumstances in which sellers are permitted to create multiple seller accounts.

In the past, Amazon’s seller guidelines clearly stated that you may not operate multiple seller accounts without Amazon’s permission, unless you have obtained Amazon’s permission and have a legitimate business need to open multiple accounts.

Because of this regulation, the accounts in the hands of sellers have become extremely valuable. Once an account is blocked and they cannot appeal and want to create a new account, it means that the previous set of information will be invalid.

But after this policy change, you can create multiple sales accounts as long as you comply with Amazon's rules , which is good news for most sellers.

Amazon Logistics "Subscribe and Save"

We will be introducing a new funding structure and allowing automatic registration of eligible products.

Eligible replenishable items will be automatically enrolled at a 0% base discount (i.e., no fees charged by the seller) and when the buyer receives at least five items in one delivery.

Amazon will provide a 5% buyer discount for financing graded shipments.

Sellers who want to fund a buyer discount can offer a 5% or 10% discount . Amazon will fund an additional 5% discount under applicable conditions , and sellers can opt out at any time .

This means that when selling products on the UK and German sites, sellers can automatically register eligible replenishable products without paying anything.

In addition, Amazon offers a 5% discount when buyers collect more than 5 items .

This shows that Amazon is trying its best to protect the rights of buyers and sellers through various measures. This logistics "Subscribe and Save" plan can help sellers improve conversion rates.

Amazon Renewed Global Quality Policy

We will be updating the quality requirements for Refurbished products.

In addition, to improve the seller experience, the pricing of refurbished products must be at least 5% off compared to the current recommended price of new ASINs in the same city; refurbished products must provide an Amazon Renewed program insert, which includes general information about the Amazon Renewed program.

The changes to this policy will require sellers participating in this program to source Apple iPhone accessories from a list of pre-approved brands to enhance quality control.

As the world's largest e-commerce giant, Amazon is bound to increase its efforts to promote the development and consolidation of its online business.

These policy adjustments can be seen as important measures taken by Amazon to further stimulate market consumption, regulate the seller market, and enhance buyer experience.

VAT Agreement

This adjustment is mainly aimed at explaining the UK's withdrawal from the EU.

European VAT Services Online Agreement

Update data processing terms and allow other service providers to participate in the program.

FBA Dangerous Goods Program Terms and Conditions

We also added the FBA Dangerous Goods Program Terms and Conditions as a new program policy.

This policy defines the product eligibility requirements, shipping requirements, and storage restrictions that apply to the European FBA dangerous goods program.

For the above three policies, all sellers can do is pay more attention to and comply with relevant requirements!

In short, Amazon is the platform that "pays the most attention to customer experience and is customer-centric."

Therefore, the editor suggests that no matter how Amazon’s policies change, sellers must be buyer-centric, be meticulous when selecting products, conduct sufficient market research, and understand customer needs and shopping psychology.
