I never expected that the longest Spring Festival holiday in history would be caused by a plague! Which type of employees are the worst off during this epidemic? I think it should be the group of people who resigned before the New Year! It is so difficult to find a job during this special period. Some people may still be trapped in the village and can't leave... Even those who are working are having a hard time. Why do we say that? Because under the epidemic, some companies have found it difficult to make ends meet. Recently, Tsinghua University and Peking University jointly conducted a survey of 995 small and medium-sized enterprises. The survey results show that due to the impact of the epidemic, 29.58% of enterprises saw a decline in operating income of more than 50% in 2020, and 58.05% of enterprises saw a decline of more than 20%. At the same time, 85.01% of enterprises could not survive for 3 months ... At the same time, in addition to small and medium-sized enterprises, even many large enterprises have been forced to close their doors during the outbreak! The catering industry was the first to bear the brunt. Haidilao and Jingge closed all stores during the Spring Festival, while Jiu Mao Jiu, Waipojia, and Tai Er Pickled Fish will be closed until February 9. In addition, Xibei Youmiancun clearly stated that it could not survive for 3 months. According to statistics, due to the impact of this epidemic, the catering industry's retail sales this year will suffer a loss of 500 billion yuan in just 7 days. The cross-border e-commerce industry is also not immune to this! Although there is no clear statistical data, many bosses say that they can no longer survive due to the impact of supply and logistics! Some business owners said: Thousands of orders have been accumulated but have not been shipped, and the factory reopening is nowhere in sight. There are also rent, utilities, employee salaries, mortgages, and car loans. If this continues, let alone 3 months, we won’t be able to hold out for even a month! Business owner B said: Most of the employees are still in their hometowns and have not been to work for half a month. If the start of work is further delayed until February 10, their wages can only be paid according to the basic wage in Shenzhen, and everyone will be in a difficult situation! If the company is not doing well, how can individuals do well? Now many employees are afraid when they hear that the holiday may be extended again! Because delayed start of work means that there may be no salary! It is understood that there are currently four main forms of salary payment for employees in the "extended period": 1. Employees work remotely from home and their salaries will be paid as usual! Under the epidemic, some companies require employees to work remotely from home through DingTalk and WeChat for Enterprise and clock in normally! Such companies are more humane and powerful! 2. Operations only settle commissions, no base salary! Some companies stated that employees only need to manage their accounts remotely at home and do not need to come to the company, so only commissions will be paid during the period and basic salary will not be settled! 3. Employees will be paid according to the city’s minimum wage if their business is closed! In order to save costs, some companies will pay employees during the "extension period" based on the city's minimum wage standard, but this is a bit tight for employees. Take Shenzhen as an example, the minimum wage standard is 2,200 yuan, which is far from enough to cover the monthly expenses! 4. No wages will be paid during the extension period! Some small and medium-sized enterprises are financially weak and will not pay employees' wages during the extension period! So for most people, the best case scenario is that the salary remains unchanged, and the worst case scenario is no salary, which increases people's stress. After all, in this debt-ridden society, you may have credit card and Huabei payments to pay off every month... One more question, how will your company pay salaries this month? In addition to salary adjustments, a wave of layoffs may also follow! Because few companies can survive a three-month shutdown, in order to extend the life of the company, layoffs have become an inevitable choice for business owners! Some sellers are worried. They have not received any requests from the company to work from home. Later, they asked their colleagues and found out that they have been working from home. Is this a sign that they are about to be fired? In the face of the business crisis of major companies, local governments have also issued relevant government regulations! Among them, the Shenzhen government has issued regulations requiring: Enterprises are not allowed to lay off employees for any reason, that is, for patients with pneumonia infected with the new coronavirus, suspected patients, and close contacts who are unable to provide normal labor during isolation treatment or medical observation, or due to the government's implementation of isolation measures or other emergency measures, enterprises are not allowed to terminate the labor contract with employees in accordance with Article 40 and Article 41 of the Labor Contract Law. For the above individuals, Shenzhen Human Resources and Social Security requires that enterprises should treat them as providing normal labor and pay employees' normal working hours wages. In order to encourage enterprises to avoid or reduce layoffs as much as possible, eligible enterprises can enjoy job stabilization subsidies in accordance with regulations. In addition, the Ministry of Commerce has also issued a policy to support the foreign trade industry, guiding six chambers of commerce, including textiles, light industry, five minerals, food and soil, mechanical and electrical, and medical insurance, to do their best to provide relevant services such as issuing force majeure certificates, legal consultation, exhibition coordination, and supply and demand matching. The relevant matters are hereby notified as follows: 1. Each chamber of commerce will assist enterprises in need by issuing free of charge a factual certificate of force majeure for failure to deliver goods on time due to the epidemic; 2. Each chamber of commerce will provide necessary legal and information services to enterprises in response to relevant trade restrictions caused by the epidemic; 3. Each chamber of commerce will coordinate with domestic and foreign exhibition organizers to help enterprises that are unable to exhibit abroad due to the epidemic to properly handle related issues such as paid fees; 5. Each chamber of commerce will strengthen communication and contact with enterprises and local governments, share information on relevant products and services in a timely manner, and build a bridge between supply and demand. Under the epidemic, the employment conflicts between enterprises and employees are also forced by the situation! I hope that in this special period, employees can be of one mind with the enterprise, and the enterprise can stick with employees! After the epidemic, there will be new opportunities!
