What is California Proposition 65 ?

California Proposition 65, or the Safe Drinking Water and Toxic Enforcement Act of 1986, is abbreviated as CA65. The Act was enacted and took effect in November 1986. Its main purpose is to regulate harmful substances contained in products that may cause cancer, birth defects or other reproductive development, and requires that warning labels be affixed when harmful substances in products reach a trigger warning level. Currently, the harmful list of California Proposition 65 already contains thousands of substances and is continuously updated every year.

After receiving California Proposition 65, the first step is to confirm whether your product is actually in violation. At present, the main categories of such illegal products are luggage, electronic appliances, kitchen supplies, textiles and clothing, and household products.

If someone is making a spoof of your product or there are illegal words in your product description, you only need to go to the corresponding site to refresh and delete the sensitive words.

If the product does contain harmful substances, you need to find a professional lawyer to settle the case. For members of the Knowledge Planet who have agents, they are basically being phished. This type of case is similar to GBC, and they are all settled by paying money. If you receive a similar notice, the first thing you need to do is to withdraw money. Because when you settle the case, it is likely to be calculated based on the frozen funds of the store.

In this case, Amazon is also one of the defendants. If the dispute cannot be settled, it will go to court. You will need a lawyer to handle the case. If you do not hire a lawyer, Amazon will directly arrange for its own lawyer to follow up, and the relevant fees will be deducted directly from your store.
