How to apply for Amazon UPC exemption? Here is the operation guide!

During Amazon's operations, according to Amazon's regulations, all products sold on the platform must have a UPC/EAN code when they are listed.

However, if you have completed brand registration, you can choose to apply for a UPC exemption. After a successful application, other products of the same brand will no longer need to provide a UPC code.

Below, the application process for UPC exemptions will be described in detail.

Step 1: Search Amazon Backend

If you already have a brand record , go to the Amazon store backend and search directly: UPC exemption

Step 2 : Choose to apply for a GTIN exemption

Choose to apply for a GTIN exemption to sell products without a product ID

Step 3: Select brand category

It should be noted that when filling in the brand, the capitalization of the brand letters must be accurate and the category must be clearly selected (a maximum of 10 categories can be applied for at one time).

It is recommended that you select the product category corresponding to the brand name when applying for a UPC exemption for the first time.

Step 4: Application submitted successfully

After the exemption application is successful, the UPC/EAN code is no longer required when listing the product.

If it is unsuccessful, you can follow the prompts and the above steps to resubmit the correct information.
