My C position

Let me talk about my own situation first. I have been working for Amazon in this company for 4 years. When I first arrived at the company, there were only 3 employees, and everyone from the boss to the employees was new, of course I was also a newbie. It has been 4 years since I joined the company and I have been figuring things out on my own, without any formal training or learning opportunities. During these 4 years, I have been selecting products, doing art, operating, and doing after-sales service by myself. Because my performance has always been the best in the company, I have also been responsible for helping other employees in the company select products and train new employees, of course, all of which are voluntary.

The company currently has 10 people, with a monthly sales of 1 million RMB, of which 500,000 is my contribution. The quarterly gross profit is 300,000 RMB (store returns minus the cost of the first leg, but not including rent, utilities, etc.), of which I account for more than half, or 150,000 RMB. But now my salary including commission is only about 6K per month.

The company recently changed its system and changed it to grouping by function. A total of 10 people are divided into 3 departments, 2 of whom are in operations and 2 are in development. The remaining 4 people do miscellaneous work such as art design and handling emails. The remaining two are the boss and the supervisor.

After the revision, the commission is fixed at 8% of the net profit, but it has to be shared by 8 people. The ratio of operation, development and miscellaneous work is fixed at 4:4:2, which means that the two developers share 40% of the net profit of 8%, but the previous link commission is still theirs.

Before, the base salary plus full attendance was 2900, and the total with commission and year-end bonus was about 6K, but the condition for receiving the bonus was that the annual leave could not exceed 24 days. In addition, the five insurances were deducted by 600 from the individual and supplemented by 600 by the company, totaling 1200 for the five insurances. I don't know if this one-to-one ratio is reasonable. The commission is a tiered commission: 0-30,000-6%, 30-50,000-7%, and 50,000 or more is 8%

Now after the revision, I am not only responsible for the operation and after-sales of previous products and orders, but also for the overall product selection.

The company has been using the fine-grained model until now. Five products were uploaded a week before the revision and one product was uploaded a week after the revision. I feel that there is basically no opportunity to learn in the company. FBA is very difficult to launch new products or replenish stocks. The replenishment quantity is either cut in half or the payment is delayed, resulting in frequent out-of-stock links.

Do you think it's over? There are more breathtaking operations to come.

This company also holds back on commissions. Previously, the commissions for the previous month were paid on the 25th of each month. After the revision, it was changed to the first month of each quarter to pay the previous quarter's commissions. However, it is already the end of August and the commissions have only been paid for February.

I really feel that the rewards from this company are not worth the effort in all aspects, but after all, this is my first job in the industry, and I have been working here for 4 years from scratch, although the performance is average. But if I leave, I will have to start all over again, and I think it is very cheap to work for my current company because the links I have built are basically irreplaceable.

This salary is OK in a small city, but I don't know how my boss will change it if I continue to stay. I should quit because I don't know if my 4 years of messy work experience can be used for applying for a new job. Secondly, it will probably be difficult to start a new company from scratch within half a year. Can you give me some advice?

The company's gross profit for a quarter is 300,000 RMB? With 10 employees, the company's gross profit for a month is 100,000 RMB? Does this include rent and wages? If so, your boss doesn't make much money, right?

Although your performance accounts for half, given the company's current overall profit level, even if your boss wants to give you a raise, it won't be much.

I think the problem is that this company may not be able to give you what you want in a short period of time. You can do it all by yourself, so you can consider starting a side job or changing companies.

Yes, there is basically no profit after all the inventory is under control, and it is probably difficult to increase the salary. The best thing is to quit or do it yourself

Mr. Hao • Shenzhen • 2024-08-21 09:38

If the 100,000 yuan is not deducted from salaries and venue costs, then it is indeed a bit of a stretch. If there are too many SKUs, the boss will also bear more risks.

10 people, 4000 yuan per person salary, 4000 yuan for rent, that's 44,000 yuan, minus five insurances, inventory cost and other costs, I estimate the boss can make 30,000 to 40,000 yuan a month.

Your situation is very complicated. If the payment for goods is not made on time, it means that most of the money your boss earns is used to run the company, such as rent, water, electricity, goods, logistics, etc. Your boss rarely sees money.

From your description, I can roughly judge that you are not capable of working alone at present. I believe you know the specific reasons better, so I won't express them so bluntly here.

In a small city on the 18th tier, the monthly salary is 6,000 yuan. It will be difficult to find such a high salary if you change jobs.

My suggestion is that you should still work on your own starting next year, but from now on, sort out your ideas and processes for working for Amazon, think about the problems from the perspective of being a boss, and figure out what you lack.

First of all, I may speak for your boss. Considering the company's operating model and objective conditions, judging from the quarterly gross profit of 300,000, the company may not make much money, so it cannot provide a very high base salary and commission plan. Let's talk about the unreasonable parts: the commission is based on net profit, which is fine, but the proportion is unreasonable and development and logistics account for more than half, which is also unreasonable. In addition, most of the bases of the five insurances are paid according to the minimum base salary, and the company takes the majority (search Baidu online for confidence)

Finally, based on your personal situation:
1 If you do not consider developing in first-tier cities, you can only optimize the profits from the existing links, increase the profit margin and then renegotiate the salary structure with the boss

2 If the existing link has experience in creating a hit product from scratch, you can consider changing the environment. The base salary may increase. Depending on your city, it may increase by 500-1000 (based on senior operation positions)

1. Regardless of whether you want to stay or not, first see if you can talk to your boss and ask for a base salary increase.

2. If you want to move to a third-tier city, I don't know your own situation. If you want to move to a first-tier or second-tier city, there are many opportunities and the salary is indeed high, but the consumption is also high and the cost of staying is also high. Third-tier cities also have their pros and cons.

3. Commission and payment time. In recent years, many companies are just like what the poster said, with commissions getting less and less every year, and payment times getting pushed back and forth, sometimes even if the company makes more and more profit every year.

4. As for the poster, he has to do the entire process by himself and can work alone, but the risk is also high, so he can do it as a part-time job first.

My previous job was like this: 4000 basic salary + 200 full attendance + 10% commission (the excess profit over 20000 is calculated at 15%), no social security

The company fined us all kinds of money, and we had to do everything from moving and packing goods to buying goods and operating and transferring products. We also had to hold progress meetings every week, which was very time-consuming (the reason was that the boss and the manager came every day, and the two of us took turns to watch the surveillance and the accounts. To put it bluntly, even dogs don't watch like this). After we transferred a few customers to Civic across borders, we just ran away with the money.

I feel that the current situation is like this: salesmen are becoming less and less valuable, they have to pay for their physical and mental efforts, and they are not happy if they are late for a break. Simply put, the end of cross-border business is either to work alone or to set up a factory and integrate industry and trade.

Ah, fellow countryman!!! I have been back to Zhengzhou before, but if you want to get a high base salary in Henan, you basically have to work in the leadership position. The leadership position is generally around 8k. I mean Zhengzhou, I don’t know about Pingdingshan, and it’s a small company. If you work in a large company as an operator, the base salary is basically more than 6k, but the company has hundreds of people and it must be a brand, so it’s easier for you to do it and the commission is high. Or you can consider starting a business, but I think it’s a bit difficult to start a business with a monthly salary of 6k.

Is your first job like your first love?
There is no need for this. You have already learned a lot, why do you want to make yourself suffer? There is a bigger world and stage outside.

Whether it is an 18th-tier city or a first-tier city, if you are happy with the work, just keep working. If the internal friction is too great and you feel wronged, run away immediately, but don't forget to ask for the commission, which is what you deserve.

It's a fine shop with 10 people, quarterly gross profit of 300,000 yuan, and monthly gross profit of 100,000 yuan; the main topic salary is 6k, and the others are 3k, which is 33k in total, and the boss also counts 3k; I don't know about the rent, water, electricity, and environment, but at least they can keep 10 people. If the salary is 33k, plus social security, it will probably be 44k; there is still 55k gross profit left, and the premise is that the boss and the worst employee get the same salary.

Invest a sum of money, even if it's 3 months after returning, the scale should have been expanded, with 1 million sales per month, and the boss still has to hold back the goods and payment. This boss is making a contribution

First, you have 4 years of work experience, and you know everything about product selection, operation, and art design. This experience is not much better than working as a screw in a large company. Summarize your own operational experience and methodology, and it will be easy to go out for an interview and find a job with a higher salary than you have now.

Second, you can't learn anything new in the company, which means that there is not much room for personal growth. In addition, the company has various reforms and the commission is late. It is recommended that you go out and find a company that does high-quality products, and then improve your product selection and operation skills. When you have time, use your off-get off work time to work on your own. Don't be afraid of not getting any commissions in half a year, your current salary is not high.

The above suggestions are very pertinent. As an observer, I first feel that the company's overall profit is too low. The two of us can make 200,000 yuan in profit in a month when the link is mature. Please work part-time in the warehouse. 6K is indeed OK in a small place. Now you have to think clearly about what you want. If you have the courage, funds and ideas, you can start your own business. If not, then come to a bigger city. The premise is that you are not the kind of person who lives in comfort. Answerers in Shenzhen generally suggest leaving.

I also work alone and have a partner. Our monthly sales are now around 1 million, which we share between two people. We added two assistants this year, and we dare not hire an operations manager because operations managers also have to pay commissions. Assistants are used as clerks to handle trivial matters. Even so, our monthly fixed expenses are 40,000, and we can still share some money now. Your boss still has 10 people, and the gross profit is still 10%, not to mention other deductions. To be honest, he doesn't have much money. For this business, it's enough to hire two people. If they work harder, two people can also achieve this sales volume. The efficiency is too low.

Actually, I want to say something for your boss. He probably has never seen much money. Stockpiling goods in a store can kill people, not to mention a company with 10 people and a monthly gross profit of 100,000. It is not easy for this boss to solve the employment problem for the society.

Mr. Hao • Shenzhen • 2024-08-21 09:36

I don't know how many SKUs he has. If a store has more than ten pages of parent pages, it will be a real overstock.

Chen Ge Li Greennn • Shenzhen • 2024-08-21 10:49

Yes, the gross profit this month is only 100,000. Maybe they really don’t have enough staff for the boutique model? Otherwise, I can’t understand why they recruit so many people.

Luluquanke • Shenzhen • 6 days ago

@陈个李Greennn: Because fine-tuning is useless, the number of people involved in drawing, developing products, and operating them must be greater than that of fine-tuning.

Hao Moumou • Shenzhen • 2 days ago

@鹿鹿权科: No way, it's not that easy to have a real boutique in 2024, it requires a lot of money, high risk, and easy to roll. If you put money in and it doesn't work out, it's gone. If it works out, it's gone. Fine shops are still better. Although there are more SKUs and it's easy to have inventory pressure, but having more eggs in one basket has less risk.

How do you feel after seeing this post...
Half of the 300,000 gross profit per month is yours, which means your monthly gross profit is 150,000. How many times have you made 150,000 gross profit in your 4 years in this company? I personally think that Jingpu can do this, but the market may not buy it. The most important thing is whether you plan to move to another city, whether you have rent now, and how much is your monthly net income. If you think about these two questions clearly, you may have the answer.

A crop of leeks • Shenzhen • 5 days ago

@2024冲: It’s a step-by-step system. Our company also doesn’t offer commissions for salaries below 50,000 yuan. For salaries between 50,000 yuan and 100,000 yuan, it’s a base salary of 8,000 yuan + 2% commission. However, for salaries above 500,000 yuan, it’s a 10% commission.

300,000 a quarter, isn't it only 100,000 a month on average? You said half of it is your performance, which means 50,000 gross profit, and the net profit may be 20,000-30,000, which is really not much. But according to the market price of 3-5% gross profit commission, you can get 1,500 to 2,500 commissions per month. If not, then run away!

Hao Moumou • Shenzhen • 2 days ago

The minimum profit is $20,000 per month. If the gross profit is 20%, the monthly sales volume is $100,000, which is about $3,000-4,000 per day. It's so good.

Bread Lady 2024 • Shenzhen • 1 day ago

Excellent! This level is very good if you work alone. If you work part-time, you can get 8-10% of the gross profit you contribute to the company throughout the year (basic salary + commission), which is between 150,000 and 180,000 yuan.
